We tried so hard to bring this song down into a more mellow soulful vibe, but it just wanted to veer left into rock, and I’m so glad we just let it go where it wanted to, because it is definitely one of my favourites! Producer, Ross Hayes Citrullo has a co-write on this because he took it into his very cool world of southern rock, which he does so well with his band, The Commoners. Also reminiscent of a Zeppelin vibe, a band that Ross and I are both huge fans of.

It’s a song about burnout! And that can look like so many different things for different people. For me, it was living hard and fast to get everything in all at once, and just not being able to keep up with that lifestyle. Hearing that voice in my head asking me to just take a minute, and breathe, and just believing that if I did I would lose momentum. Now I’m at a place in my life where I know that there is so much more to learn in that pause that you take for yourself, and nothing is lost, but so much is gained.
